History
Victrol was founded in 1969 as a supplier of oil to seagoing and inland navigation vessels. During the late 80’s the family Maes acquired the company. At that time it was mainly a bunker company.
In the 90’s, the family Maes decided to build new double hull bunker vessels, mainly operated by Oil Majors for their bunker activities. As of 2000 Victrol is fit to purpose barging solutions for a wide range of liquid products.
RORO and heavy lift activities also started in the 90’s. By making smart & targetted investments in RORO assets over the last decades, Victrol is offering today full package RoRO and heavy lift services, starting with inhouse engineering.
SHEQ is the starting point of the daily business.
Family Maes and all Victrol employees strongly believe in innovation. We are focussing on operating innovative barges, such as LNG carrying barges, and we will continue to strive for a high level service and SHEQ management together with our barge owners.
