Installation of the new railway bridge at Herentals
20 August 2023, 15:50
The new Railway Bridge of Herentals transferred and positioned in collaboration between Sarens and Victrol.
This massive structure, spanning 160 meters and weighing a staggering 3,200 tonnes, now crosses the Albert Canal, serving as one of the heaviest bridges along this waterway.
The operation took place over the weekend of August 19th and 20th.
With careful planning and the expertise of the in-house Heavy-Team, in collaboration with Sarens, the bridge was skilfully moved onto ROROPONTON 4/5.
It smoothly traversed the canal and was eventually positioned on the left bank.
This accomplishment marks a step forward to the complete elevation of passage of the Albert Canal to 9 m, as the second-to-last bridge in this series.
